Privacy policy and disclaimersEffective date: October 2, 20261. Privacy policyThe short version. We do not collect, sell, rent, or share your personal data. The extensions have no accounts, no ads, no analytics, and no tracking. We have no server that receives your browsing data. Everything the extensions do with page content happens inside your own browser.What stays on your device. Settings, saved items, saved tab sessions, price-tracking history, budget numbers, and site preferences are stored in your browser's extension storage on your device. Uninstalling an extension removes this data. Car Deal Checker budget settings use Chrome's sync storage, so if you have Chrome sync turned on, Google may sync those settings between your own signed-in browsers. That is controlled by Google and your Chrome settings, not by us.Page access. Some extensions read the text of the page you are on so they can do their job (for example, finding a car's price and mileage, a date in selected text, a table, or a number you selected). This reading happens locally in your browser. Page content is not sent to us or stored on a server.The only times data leaves your browser. Only the items below are ever sent anywhere, and only to the service named:Car Deal Checker to NHTSA (api.nhtsa.gov, vpic.nhtsa.dot.gov): the vehicle's make, model, year, and VIN if found on the page. This happens when a car listing panel opens. Free users get VIN decode and recall info. Pro adds recall, complaint, and crash-rating data.
Car Deal Checker Pro to the U.S. EPA (fueleconomy.gov): the vehicle's year, make, and model, to look up MPG when the Pro panel loads.
Car Deal Checker, CheckDigit, DeadlineDesk, DealMath, GridPull, and ZoneSwap to Gumroad (api.gumroad.com): your license key and nothing else. This happens when you enter a key, and again automatically from time to time to confirm it is still active.
Links you click (KBB, Edmunds, the NHTSA recall page): whatever those sites receive when you open the link yourself. Nothing is sent unless you click.Tab Saver, Word Counter & Reading Time, and Dark Mode Toggle make no network requests at all.Third parties. NHTSA, the EPA, and Gumroad have their own privacy policies. Gumroad handles all payments and account details. We never see your payment information.Limited use. We use the information the extensions access only to provide the features described above. We do not use or transfer it for advertising, we do not sell it, and we do not use it to judge creditworthiness or for lending.Children. These extensions are not directed at children under 13.Changes. If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.2. What each extension does with page data
Car Deal Checker. Runs on sites you visit so it can spot car listings (price, mileage, year, VIN, and words like "accident" or "dealer fee"). It reads page text locally. If you press Save car, the listing summary and URL are stored on your device. In Pro, it also remembers the price and first-seen date of cars you view, on your device, so it can show price drops and time on the market.
CheckDigit. Looks at text you select, text in fields you type into, and (Pro) form fields on a page to check number formats such as IBAN, routing, VIN, NPI, card, barcode, and container numbers. Numbers are checked on your device and are never sent anywhere.
DeadlineDesk. Reads text you select to find dates and time periods and works out due dates on your device.
DealMath. Runs on Zillow, Redfin, and Realtor.com listing pages to read price and details. Saved deals stay on your device.
GridPull. Reads the table you choose to export. Tables are copied or downloaded on your device only.
ZoneSwap. Reads times in text you select, and (Pro) times on pages when auto-highlight is turned on. All conversion happens on your device.
Tab Saver. Stores the web addresses of your open tabs when you press Save. Nothing is uploaded.
Word Counter & Reading Time. Reads selected text or the page only when you click a button. Nothing is stored or uploaded.
Dark Mode Toggle. Stores which websites you turned dark mode on for. It changes how pages look and does not read page content.
3. Payments and licensesPro features are unlocked with a license key sold through Gumroad. Whether a Pro plan is a one-time purchase or a subscription, and its price, is shown on that extension's Gumroad product page and may change. Car Deal Checker Pro keys work on up to 3 browser installs. For billing, cancellation, or refund help, use your Gumroad receipt or email us with your order number. Keys that are refunded, charged back, cancelled, or disputed stop working.4. DisclaimersNo warranty. The extensions are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, reliability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not promise they will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that they will work on every website, since sites change their layouts without notice.Limitation of liability. The reliability score is based on NHTSA recall, owner-complaint, and crash-rating data and is not a Consumer Reports, J.D. Power, or other rating. Red flags come from text on the page and may be missing or wrong. Listings may be incomplete, outdated, or inaccurate. Always get an independent pre-purchase inspection and a full vehicle history report, confirm the out-the-door price in writing, and check open recalls for the exact VIN before you buy. A recall count shown for a model year does not mean that specific car has open recalls.
DealMath. Results are estimates for educational use and are not investment, tax, or lending advice. Property tax, insurance, rent, and rate inputs must be verified before making an offer.
DeadlineDesk. Dates are calculated from rules you choose and may not match the rules of a specific court, agency, contract, or jurisdiction. This is not legal advice. Verify every deadline against the governing rules and with a qualified professional before relying on it. You are responsible for meeting your deadlines.
CheckDigit. A passing check digit means a number is correctly formed. It does not confirm that an account, person, vehicle, or shipment exists or is valid. Do not rely on it as fraud or identity checking.
ZoneSwap. Time zone abbreviations can be ambiguous (for example CST or IST). Confirm important meeting times.
GridPull. You are responsible for making sure your use of exported data follows the terms of the website and any laws that apply.
Tab Saver, Word Counter & Reading Time, Dark Mode Toggle. Counts, read times, and color changes are approximate. Dark mode inverts colors and may display some pages imperfectly. Saved tab sessions are stored locally and can be lost if you clear browser data or uninstall, so keep anything important elsewhere too.Third-party data and websites.
